ABOUT MY MUSIC

As a piano-kid growing up, I never dreamed I'd have a chance to make a living in music. When I moved West in the 1990s, I was hired to edit famous pianists’ recordings to be played back on modern-day player pianos in restaurants, hotels and hospitals all over the world. It was rewarding and satisfying work and had the bonus of introducing me to my engineer husband, who designed the piano electronic systems. Together, we've since restored an old-timey player piano from pedals to lid and raised two smart and musical sons who are basically mashups of their parents.

I left my musical journey while raising kids, but when my sons were in high school, I returned to the piano and started composing. My musical sensibilities are most influenced by my favorite classical composers, and my desire to make music that creates relaxing, restorative spaces is most likely influenced by having shared the past twenty years with a houseful of high-energy boys and men.

Besides placing in a few songwriting competitions, I’ve written lyrics and melodies for pop and folk performers, including this favorite for Jameson Tabor, and I’ve had contemplative instrumental music placed in UK music library, Dodged a Bullet. I’m currently focused on composing music for children.
